If your teen got their license over the summer, they may appreciate a refresher course on how to drive on snow/ice covered roads.
For instance, Veteran Crash Investigator and Driver Safety Expert, Mike Pehl takes his students to an empty parking lot and has them practice how to regain control of their car if it goes into a skid.
He shows his students how to ease off the accelerator and turn the wheel in the direction the rear of the car is moving. Mike also tells his students to make sure they don’t oversteer as they are trying to correct the skid.
Of course, if they do over-steer Mike shows them how to turn the wheel the other way if the car’s back end starts to swing in the other direction.
