MIKE SAYS: Slow down and let the tailgater pass. Don’t slow drastically, just ease up on the gas and you’ll slow slightly. You could also move to the right part of your lane to signal the person behind you that you are trying to let them go around you.

This works only if you are in an area where passing is allowed. If you are in a no passing zone just keep going until you are out of the no passing zone and then slow down some. Do NOT tap the brakes. That’s like crying wolf and will work the first few times, but if you really need to break later, the person may not back off.
